Today's Preschool! Template

Arrival/Quiet Play
Set out some toys before the children arrive for the day. Whether you limit the little ones to these several choices or not is totally up to you, but it's a great place for them to start and may even remind them of a toy that you have that they haven't played with in a while.
Clean Up
Here's a super fun video to encourage your kiddos to get the room all picked up and get themselves ready for Circle Time, complete with a 2 minute pre-cleanup warning!
Circle Time
It's our first time getting together for the day! "Let's Say Hello!" is a great way to get your kiddos smiling, paying attention, and participating in their learning. We talk about some of the fun things coming up today in the video.

After we say, "hello," it's a great opportunity for you to chat with the children about the calendar - the day, the month, and the year; count down to any fun upcoming events on the calendar; the weather; etc.
Table Time
Worksheet activity.

As your children finish up their work, consider having something like crayons and paper available for them to use at the table, until everyone has completed the activity. It's a great way to keep everyone in the same area and gives you the ability to provide help to the kiddos who have not yet finished, while still keeping and eye on, and helping when needed, the others.

Transition
to Circle Area
Why not make the transition from the tables back to the Circle Area a little more fun? Choose from any of these movement-based videos to help your kiddos get their wiggles out as they get ready for the next part of their day!

Story Time
One of the most fun ways that I have found for a group of children to get ready to listen attentively to story is to sing a quick song, helping them go from having slightly more active bodies to less active and ready to listen. This song does the trick every time!
Snack Time
It's time for you little ones to recharge their bodies and minds with a healthy pick-me-up! As the kiddos finish their snack, consider allowing them to get up from the table to look at some books. This allows the more pokey eaters some time to get to finish their snack without having to ask your lightning-quick eaters to just sit and wait.
Transition
to Circle Area
It's time head back to the Circle Area. Choose the same movement song from earlier for some extra repetition in your day or pick a different video for the children to enjoy! Whatever your decide, it will turn a quick walk into a fun time!

Fingerplay
Sure, we've sung some super songs already today but, with children, you can never have too many. Here's one that ties right into this week's theme!

Free Choice
(including
Sensory Activity)
or
Outside Play
You're children have been doing great so far today! It's time for them to be given some extra freedom to make their own play choices. This is a great time to bring out the SENSORY ACTIVITY HERE, as well. Consider asking the kiddos with what toy, or in what area, they would like to start playing. This can help to create a more calm transtiion to Free Choice time and, therefore, a more calm Free Choice time, overall.

This time can also be used for some super fun Outside Play time! There's nothing better for kiddos developing brains and bodies then to stretch their legs and exercise their muscles while coming up with amazing imaginative play ideas!
Clean Up
It's that time again! Turn on the video to give your kiddos their 2 minute warning, and then get ready for a fun and easy clean up time, ending back at the Circle Area.

Fingerplay Recap
Repetition is so good for children, which is why it makes them so happy to do things over and over again! The repeating helps their brain's form stronger connections to the material being learned. It also provides them with an additional sense of safety and comfort. With that in mind, let's sing about the... again.
Goodbye
The end of the day already!? It's time to say, "goodbye." It has been my pleasure working with you and your children today. Consider going around the circle and talking to the children about one thing that each of them really liked about today. Then, when they're ready, let's sing the "Goodbye Song," together! See you tomorrow!
