It's A Potato Shamrock!

There's nothing like some good potato stamping to brighten up someone's Saint Patrick's Day, am I right? We've talked about using a potato to stamp and decorate a cut out shamrock. But, what if the stamp itself WAS the shamrock. The Spoonful website has a really clever idea to turn your average, ordinary potato into a festive shamrock stamp. All you'll need after that is some green paint and you'll be set. Just below the link to the full description of this craft. After that, check below for a quick thought.

MODIFICATION: It's one thing to dot away with your potato onto a piece of paper but, if you're wanting your kiddo to actually make a shamrock with the potato, why not show him what you expect of him. It's the easiest way to really get your point across, right? This idea is called modeling and it will help your little one really get going on this activity. You might want to have an extra paper nearby to let your child dot away, as an incentive/reward. Maybe, after a specified number of shamrocks? Have fun!
