It's always a great time to make a snowman! That's true whether there is snow outside or not. But, if there isn't snow on the ground, what can your little one do? Check out this cool craft from The Elementary Art Room. All you need is some cut or ripped up paper, another piece of paper to glue them on and, of course, some glue. In theory, the final product is going to look something like this:
MODIFICATIONS: One of the reasons why this is such a great craft is the paper ripping aspect. In fact, I will often recommend cutting or ripping paper as a good sensory break for kiddos. So, while I would definitely suggest pre-ripping the paper for your little one if necessary, for most of the children with whom I work, the tearing and/or cutting is the best part. What I would recommend, if your think that your child will benefit from this, is making sure to have a very distinct area in which you child can place and glue his piece of paper. You might even want to label the space inside that area, "snowman." Now, I know that your child is probably not reading just yet. But, you can go ahead and read the word to him and that can really help to reinforce the concept of where those pieces of paper should go for this activity.
