Snow Painting For Winter Fun! (with modifications)

It's winter time, so I thought that we could talk about some fun winter crafts and activities for a little while. This one is from the Mom Endeavors site. All you'll need is some glue and shaving cream to create "snow paint," and then some card stock to paint it on to. There's a few more things that might be helpful for your kiddo, but why don't you check out the activity itself first, and then come on back here for the suggestions.

MODIFICATION: I have worked with many a little one who would balk at this activity because they just don't want the paint touching their hands. Kiddos who feel this way might let you know in a variety of ways. They might back away from the area, tell you straight out, cry, yell, attempt to distract you by starting an unrelated conversation. If you think that your little one's reaction might be because of the sensitivity to the feel of the paint on their skin, there are several things that you can try, so that your child can have fun and work on this craft, too. You can offer your little one some plastic gloves. In this way, they will still even get to experience to general feel of the paint, but without getting any on their hands. You can also try using a paint brush. That'll keep the glop far away from your kiddos skin, but they'll still get to enjoy the wonderful experience. Who knows? Maybe, without the pressure that they "have to" put the paint on their hands, they will start experimenting on their own a little at a time.
