Great Igloo Craft (with modification)

I found some great activities and crafts over at the Moments Of Mommyhood blog. What really drew me in was a post from almost 2 years ago. It features several crafts that are perfect for wintertime and cold weather conversations with little ones. When you head over there, check out the first project that is described, the igloos. What I've got below is a great addition that that craft that I think will be awesome for any child!

MODIFICATION: This isn't so much of a modification as a fun and simple suggestion. Go ahead and have your kiddo cut those white paper squares themselves! Children love cutting, so just give your child a couple of sheets of white paper, maybe a container for her to cut over (so you don't wind up with paper everywhere), and a few examples of what her squares can look like. Then, just let her go. Cutting like this is also a very calming task for lots of children and, the combination of the cutting work and then the gluing, can make this a very good activity to keep ready for when you feel like your little one is acting a little too wild and needs something to help calm her down a bit.

  1. Thank you for sharing our craft! I think I'll do it again today with my two year old. I love revisiting the things that I have done with her big sisters and brothers! :)
