Pumpkin Number Puzzle (with modifications)

Let's talk pumpkins today, with this Pumpkin Fun Preschool Pack! We're going to work on a pumpkin puzzle today but, instead of using the numbers 1-10 to help us, we're going to use the numbers 11-10! I know, big time, right!? So, once you've downloaded the pack, go ahead to page 7. Your job is to cut out each of those strips. You children's job is to put them back together, even glue them if they'd like. Those numbers on the side are there to help them. But, do they know those numbers or the order they are supposed to be placed in?

Along with those strips of paper, make sure to give your kiddos that need it another sheet of paper, this one with the numbers 11-20 written out, from top to bottom (just like the puzzle was). Aside from matching the puzzle exactly, which is definitely a big help, kiddos typically have an easier time distinguishing order of things, going from top to bottom, as opposed to left to right. Before they quite know how to read, this just seems to come more naturally to them. Once your children have the pages with the numbers written on them, go ahead and count them, out loud, together. And, then, the activity itself can begin. You may need to model the process for some of your little ones, showing them how to look at the top number, the number 11, on their sheet, search for the puzzle piece that has the matching number, and gluing it down to the final page.
