Benny has lots of people and animals in his family! He just came
back from going shopping and your kiddos' jobs are trying to figure out what he bought for each family member, on this worksheet. One of the neat things about this activity, I think, is that the pictures aren't necessarily self-explanitory. Go ahead and talk things over with your students, starting on the family member line and then moving down to the item purchased line, making sure they they have a firm grip on what they think that each picture represents. Then they can go ahead and get to work cutting the pictures from the bottom out and gluing them where they think they should go. The decisions that they make might not necessarily be the same ones that you would make. If you're trying to figure out if your little one's are getting the concept behind this activity, go ahead and ask them why they made the choices that they did. Their answers, quite often very well thought out and sensible, might surprise you! If kiddos are having some trouble with the cutting on the lines aspect of this one, go ahead and highlight the lines that they have to cut on for them. It may seem like a small thing, but it can make a world of difference!
