LET'S SAY HELLO!: |
TABLE WORK:
Here's a really cute and fun Sorting Activity that will help your little one work on her Visual Discrimination skills... and that's a good thing! Visual Observation is one of the key ways that little ones learn. And when you couple it with Valentine's Day cuteness - there's no telling how much fun you can have. FINGERPLAY: |
SENSORY PLAY:
Today's activity works on the Proprioceptive System. For more on that, check out this article on, well, Proprioception. Once you understand what your working on, it's time for some Wheelbarrow Walking! Hold your little one's feet and have him walk on his hands around the house. It will give some great, deep pressure, input into those arm muscles and joints. And have fun! |

GOODBYE SONG: |
What a wonderful idea to help parents get an early start with their little ones. I especially like the "colors" video that you made. My son is having such a hard time remembering his colors. :( Maybe/hopefully this will help him since he loves watching you so much. Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule and from your family to help us all teach our children! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked with kiddos who were having a tough time remembering colors, one thing that was awesome and helped a ton was a soft colored cube, like this one on Amazon: http://amzn.to/11J8A94 Mine came with a set of cards and a game, too. But, I actually didn't use it. All we needed was the cube and some Legos/Duplos. We took turns rolling the cube. Whoever's turn it was would roll the cube, say the name of the color that it landed on, pick a Lego with a matching color out of the bin, and use that block to add to what we were building (usually just a tower, but it doesn't matter). Sometimes, we would throw the cube at each other. If the person was hit, they would have to say the name of the color. If the person wasn't, the person who did the throwing said the name of the color. If a kiddo really had trouble remember, I would give hints: It's like the grass. It's like the sun. It's like a fire truck.
